Muscle pain, or is it fascial holdings?

Muscle pain, or is it fascial holdings?

Muscle pain is something that most everyone experiences at some point in their life. We often generalizes most discomfort as being muscle pain, but did you know that more times than not this pain is actually caused by fascia related issues? It is ineffective to treat something and feel relief if you’re targeting the wrong thing in that treatment. In this blog post, we will be covering the basics of what fascia is, and how T Spheres can help relieve fascia related pain. We will also explore the benefits of aromatherapy and the mind body connection.

What is fascia?

Hopkinsmedicine.org describes the fascia as a “thin casting of connective tissues that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber, and muscle in place.” Aside from providing internal structure for our bodies, fascia also has a ton of nerve making it almost as sensitive as our skin, and when stressed, the fascia tenses up.

The fascia is designed to stretch as your body moves. Sometimes the fascia can thicken or become sticky which results in it drying up and tightening around your muscles. Dry and tight fascia causes painful knots to form and can also limit mobility. Some factors that cause the fascia to tighten and become painful include lack of physical activity, overworking one part of the body too much, and trauma/injury. Dealing with fascia pain is no fun at all and can limit what you can do and enjoy in life.

How T Spheres can help:

Our  aromatherapy massage balls are amazing for soothing tight fascia and loosening up any tense muscles you may have. In fact, they were developed to work with fascia specifically. Our T Spheres massage balls are textured, allowing better application in self massage when working with fascia. The texture of T Spheres allows them to grip the skin easier and work on superficial fascia and deeper layers of the soft tissue, bringing space to the areas of the nerve endings found in the fascia. When the nerves of the fascia are soothed, any knotted fascia around your muscles will relax resulting in pain free movement and better range of motion.

Aside from targeting the fascia specifically, there are many other benefits from using

T Spheres aromatherapy massage balls. Here are a few:

  • Improved Posture
  • Reduced Stiffness
  • Deeper Oxygen Intake

T Spheres and Aromatherapy

Additional to being developed to aid in fascia pain, T Spheres massage balls were also created to aid the limbic system. Our patented massage balls incorporate the use of aromatherapy by the infusion of essential oils directly into them. Aromatherapy is an effective way to activate the limbic system and bring about stress relief. Essential oils (aromatherapy) when inhaled, is recognized by the limbic system in a positive way resulting in decreased stress levels along with better breathing, memory, and digestion. Aromatherapy also has many psychological benefits and is each T Spheres massage ball has it’s own unique aroma.

To get started using your T Spheres for aromatherapy inhalation, hold your massage ball close to your nose and try to block out any distractions. Closing your eyes and/or being in a quiet room will amplify the relaxation process. Once ready, inhale and exhale a few times to begin your session. This will result in a mind-body therapeutic experience.

Aromatherapy can be used to help with a wide variety of things such as…

  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Body aches
  • Headaches
  • Menstrual problems
